Poetry / Miss Morning Sky
I really love you, but I didn’t have the heart to tell you.
We’ve been friends for so long but it never meant that much to you
I really love you, but I didn’t have the heart to tell you.
And I dwell on the things
I’d never say to your face.
I killed her with the empty threats that emptied her eyes.
Not to mention all the money
I
spent on disguises.
Trying to hide my face
at the wrong place and time.
I lived a good life, now
it’s time to die
Remembering the plans that we made gone awry.
How we’d be together ‘til the day that we died.
She told me that a heart’s the worst thing to deny.
I said “Goodnight, now, Ms. Morning Sky.”
And I dwell on the things
I’d never say to your face.
