Intersting take on creativity. The use of the word BUT is a puzzle for me. Made me think…is pen analogous for the writer? If so it makes perfect sense.
Warmest regards, Nicky.

As an editor, my first thought was switching it to “Creative thought leaps; my pen weeps”. The reason is because it keeps the rhyming words in the same tense (rather, it means they both end with “S”es).
Also, using the semicolon gives you another word to play with; you do not need to use the word “but”. However, in doing this, you add a bit more mystery to the story (which I like, but you may not). First, since we eliminated many thoughts and narrowed it to one (mainly so you can use the word “leaps” instead of “leap”), it makes it seem that the thought you are writing about it is more important to you—the thought that you have committed yourself to, instead of many different fleeting thoughts.
Eliminating the word “but” brings that ultimate thought forward without contradiction. Using “but” means that your pen is not supposed to weep. Removing it keeps the mystery there. Maybe your pen is supposed to weep at this thought. But, why? Well, that’s for your readers to figure out. It keeps them involved.
Anyway, that’s just my opinion.
This one got me! Could hold a few different meanings.
Great job!
