i would have to disagree. mine is done by pencil. i guess i make a few more mistakes. but, it is so true

a bit unclear, but i think we all can relate.  True at least in that once one discovers pen and paper, a magnetization often follows shortly behind and this always accomplishes two thing: 1- costs time 2- relieves us in a way that transcends the loss of time.

Wow, that’s an extremely powerful 6-worded quote. Not sure about the lack of punctuation at the end.

I commented on the lack punctuation because I’m wondering about the sense of completeness that a full stop could bring.
But having considered it again… Either way it’s still a brilliant quote.

Apologies for not establishing your gender. I suspect that a stand alone sentence does not require a full stop. A full stop is, by definition, the device for separating one sentence from another.
I rest the case for the defence m’lud. Or should that be m’ludess?

Interesting.  I don’t like that it implies that the “ink” is doing something.  I would prefer to think that you are ripping yourself open WITH ink.  

I see what you want to say, but would the ink do the ripping? The ink sounds analogous to blood, the substance that would spill out because of the ripping.

Would the pen be a better metaphor?

Also, why “my” life? A writer describes more than his own experience. Would this be better simply “Life”?

Ink is the medium that stores thoughts in perpetuity.
The pen is the tool that is used to convert thoughts to indelible marks. The pen can be replaced by anything that makes a mark, but it is the marks, the letters and words that do the work; do away with them and you have nothing.

I like this one.  I wouldn’t change it at all. It is a bit scarry when you think about it but true none the less :)

The metaphor seems off.  How can ink rip anything?  It’s liquid, fundamentally.  It’s too much of a stretch.  You could say “My life ripped open bleeds ink.”  Then you’re ok.

Ink marshalled into letters represents frozen thoughts.
If you spill ink then you are either painting or clumsy, you are not writing.
Metaphysics to one side, it only takes two signatures to start a marriage, and how many were on the Bill of Rights?
