Strong choice of words that bring depth to the statement. The reader is able to feel and envision both pain and joy.

Yes, writing is an “alone” activity. This is a writing meant to reflect your experience. How can I take away from your experience? Imagination cannot be destroyed. That is what I understand you to say. Is this what you intend to communicate? I understand isolation. Is this also your intent? I ask questions in order for you to evaluate what you have communicated to this reader. I do urge you to be “less lonely” in order to enjoy your experience with writing to the fullest extent! Have fun, too!
A nice statement, but did not tell a story. Smith wants this to achieve memoir, which means there must be an inherent event.
Many writers can identify with the alone aspect described. So many of us have to lock ourselves away from the world to accomplish what we want done. The “utterly alone” phrase is somewhat frightening and peaceful at the same time.
I like the thought of immortal imagination-one that lives on forever. It gives more power to the imagination.
I liked this.
