I don’t see why you can’t wonder and take notes at the same time. I was using the statement “Whilst taking notes” as a metaphor for writing poetry.

We use whilst still in Australia as well, I like the word (maybe somewhat stubbornly) and think it fits well in this quote. DONT CHANGE IT!
I dont think people should place criticism on the piece based on one word.
This is a delicious quote, definately one for writers to remember.
Keep sharing, would love to read more.

If you were truly wandering, how could you really be taking notes? When would you have the time or even the thought to stop to do so? I think that wandering is not the best word choice.
I have no problem with “whilst” or “amongst”.
That said, “whilst” is not really necessary in this statement.
You could consolidate “wondering through” to “Ranging”. This would save you a word.
Ranging life, taking notes, __ __ ?
Just a suggestion.
mad eme laugh, but only because I hate the word whilst and even here would suggest while. But other than that true and accurate so i scored good
This is very true and, I think, perfectly describes the act of writing, aswell as the act of living. And even though I doubt it was something you intentionally did, the fact that this sentence perfectly describes both acts implies that they are both one and the same – writing is living for you, or, writing is your life. This is honestly a lot better than a large portion of the entries I’ve read. Good luck!
“Whilst” is a little out of date and I think ‘while’ would have sufficed unless you are British, then you are excused. But as a six word memoir is tells us more of what you do than what you have lived. I like it for what it states, sounds like a nice thing to do, but what do you do with your notes I wonder? Now that would be interesting. Good luck!
This was a very pretty line. It made me think of someone wandering through a garden, a notepad in hand, just quietly taking in the world and smelling the flowers. And isn’t that the way writing/life should be? Just taking it as it comes and writing about everything that happens. I really loved this.
I can relate to this statement because people often feel that they are “wandering through life” and watching it pass by, whilst not really LIVING. As artists we areobserving and making judgements on the world around us – describing and putting feeling into words regarding what we see. This a great memoir which will certainly appeal to the literary audience. Great job!
