Agree. You can not retire from something that is natural as breathing without dying, this is not to say, you may not take a very long sabatical from time to time, but never really retire.

So true. I go through periods of time which now that i think about it, i could consider hibernation. Otherwise I think the day I stop will be my deathbed and even then I hope to be able to write the traditional Haiku.

Good quote. This definitely says something. Is it true? I haven’t been there yet.

I know I am a writer to my core. If I were to hibernate, I would die. Without experiencing love, heartache, disappointment, joy, passion, or forgiveness we would have nothing to write about. Hibernation implies going away from away from the rest of the world. I’m not sure where you were going with this piece.

I really like this one.  I have always been a writer…but I haven’t been writing for a few years.  I really feel like there is a part of me that is just missing and I’ve started trying to find the time to write again.  This one really touched me.

Thought provoking, but I think instead of the word “or” you should have used “then”.

Starbucks puts me off, but I do agree. Ah, for a writer to die, and finally know what it doesn’t feel like to be celebrated.

I certainly agree with you to a point, like my computer I sometimes go into hibernation, just to regenerate my thoughts. You made your point which some people should take to heart, for to retire is in itself a form of death for many. One should never completely retire, just relax a little and let things flow naturally instead of forcing them as we have done all our working lives. Nicely written six word piece.
