Alright, I can clearly see the message here. A lot of emotion actually is depicted in this piece. The death of a pen is a great metaphor for a writers broken heart. When I say broken I don’t actually mean because of a romantic relationship but the love for writing itself. What else can a writer do when there purpose is has been stripped? Great piece. I enjoyed it. Good luck. With respect. -Corruptedstatic.

I know everyone tries so hard to sugarcoat everything. This is ok. Just my opinion
hmm, could mean you are out of ideas, could mean you are at the end of your life, or could mean you are simply out of ink. Whichever, I like it!
well stated – and the metaphoric meaning is great also
Now that is a sumation for the ages!
What can I add to this? Nothing!
LOL!!!!
A loss of inspiration, perhaps? I like it…
Shouldn’t I have it, shouldn’t I have it…Mary Chapin Carpenter.
