I am not sure what you meant overall, but in terms of being able to be able to apply it to everyone it definitely fits the bill.  The obscurity of the meaning here can be applied for many different things from the literal sense to a figurative sense that success is that much sweeter because there has been failure. (At least in my mind).  

In terms of a creative life I find it slightly more difficult to apply.  I suppose  that’s just me though.  I like the optimism shown though and I congratulate such a piece.

This quote is quite wicked and I smiled when I first read it…
But in a second thought, it is quite vague actually unless you have a title to suggest how to apply this quote, or showing the reader some/ a concrete examples…?

I think “hard-felt” might help give your 6-er the structure that suits it best
