I loved this one, I know exactly how you feel, i’m the same about singing, not only are we poor financially, but people get jealous too.

There is an large community of people who share this reality. Ain’t life grand :) liked it

I like the first sentence. The word poor falls flat. Good start, keep writing.

I thought this was straight to the point, and states its point very clearly and with a lot of humor.  It says I could’ve been successful, but I might have compromised my integrity.  I didn’t want to do that, so now I create what I want, even though it’s not lucrative.  I think you illustrated it WELL and simply.  

Only financially ;P

Seriously, that made me laugh; nice twist on the ‘starving artist’ phrase :)

Dry wit. I approve.

That aside, I love the tone usage here.
