Lyrics / Forgotten (Untitled)
With our hands clenched and our teeth bared,
our shoulder braced for impact.
We slid through the mist of the mind,
and cloaked ourselves in hatred.
Immortal together we’d be.
Forever together, we’ll see.
When enough wasn’t enough anymore,
and truth was all a lie,
I watched you in my own fog,
and told you it was time.
We’d be enough for enough.
And follow the trail to the tip.
But where the concrete ends is vital,
be careful not to trip.
I’d follow you forever,
if you would light that way.
But lights aren’t just mere candles,
they’re souls compact like clay.
Heavy, obscure, opaque.
Nothing describes the light.
And here we are forever,
yes, still here forever.
Here we are forever,
in the mist and wind and rain.
Brainstorming objectivity,
yes, no, fair, foul.
Pass, fail. Play.
We’re in this together now.
And from afar I’d help you.
Pull down barriers for you.
I’d be there for you.
If you’d only light the way.
Light the way.
Light the way.
Memories are darkening.
I don’t trust what I know.
Fallacies are sparking,
the embers for the throne.
Burn down your own kingdom.
My empire’s at stake.
But take a moment to consider,
just what it would take.
To cause an avalanche,
you have to shift a rock.
To light up all the kindling,
you have to make a spark.
But when the night is darker,
and when the winter’s cold,
know that just today,
we’re still short of old.
So forgotten we would be now,
immortality lost.
But here we are again,
and precipitation is frost.
The snow is almost melting.
I can hear the ice crack.
Shift the rock, and cause a spark.
We’re back to a concrete path.
