yes this is very good. i certainly like the use of sylvia plath in this,it makes you wonder if the writer is a bit twisted as sylvia or are they being very satirical in their reference to sylvia plath. very well done
So I was the guy who had to look up a little more about silvia plath like an idiot. But after reading her bio and getting to know a little more, I like this very much as a six word memoir. It says a lot about driving oneself, dedication to the craft etc. well done
I like the referense and you would have to know about Plath to understand this, or it might make people look for her info. Either way, it’s good :O)
I like this, but it falls flat if you’ve never heard of or read any Sylvia Plath. Luckily, I have…I like (and understand) the sentiment, as I often feel the same way, but it is somewhat of a downer.
Overall, decent…
keep on hanging on
It fits perfectly right into the Smith submission. It’s a thought crossing an artists mind. The artist has to stick his/her head (no pun intended) in deep thought in order to come up with something of worth and this quote reads as a yearning towards salvation or life. Hope that makes sense. =]
I think that’s good. If you’re talking about her suicide, so did Anne Sexton. How does one escape the existential anguish of being a poet?
intitally i was saddened and scared for you thinking you want to end your “creative life”, when i read it again there was a satiric humor to it and i laughed. either way did a good job evoking emotions from the reader with so few words. out of curiousity, which part of plath’s life are you referring to?
this would be interesting if it were a series of notes to someone or reminders to oneself.
The humor and irony in this piece are very evident, and I like the blunt tone that’s used. It challenges the readers, and makes us ask the questions posed by the statement. The staccato statement speaks volumes. Well done.
Very impressive – but do you mean her suicide or her attitude towards men that was shaped by her unhappy experiences? At any rate, it’s sharp and hits the spot!
