thanks…this is but one song of many, the subject matter does vary from piece to piece…you should check out my band, Strawfoot…we sing about all sorts of things…this particular one was a direct response to being laid off during a recession…I believe in keeping my work honest and true, so I feel compelled to write about what I’m going through…and at that time, it was coming to terms with corporate america cutting me loose. On our myspace page, currently, we have a song about feeling like you’re so bad, there’s no turning back, only going forward with wicked ways, a song about wanting and needing what you don’t have, a song written to help come to grips with a friend fighting cancer and to help comfort said friend, a song about the temptations you feel when you’re married, and a bluegrass cover of Alice in Chains’ Rooster…
Though I don’t write love songs. That’s something I haven’t been able to get quite right…I guess most of my inspiration stems from troubling things…the whole suffering artist complex…
