Poetry / Round 'em Up , move 'em out
Mountain lions been run off
one took a bit of lead
Buck looked around
satisfied,
now
cowboys git to bed
hotel bed with fancy linens
the bedroll sure is not
no dance hall girls , whiskey jugs
or bathwater that is hot
ain’t much on soft or easy livin,
when ridin’ herd with Buck
the work is plenty, the pay is not
it helps to have some luck
shining hot like brandin’ irons
stars would own the sky
way off in the distance
coyotes start to cry
cook’s up first , start’s making grub
cowboys up real soon
round ‘em up move ‘em out
Buck wants 100 miles ‘afore noon

This feels unfinished although it offers the cowboy poetry I have a soft heart for. Something needs to happen between Buck and the mountain lion. Or am I wishing?
