Poetry / And Split - Use The Force
Everything sounds louder in the night.
When the only thing that sheds the slightest droplet of light in your house is the faint glow of street lights
The volume goes full blast. The only thing that can mute it
Is dawn.
My heart beats for you
But only if you listen
You call it Stockholm Syndrome,
I call it love.
Tonight we dine at Subway.
We drink at Crane Coffee.
Our last supper.
Before we become an emo kid’s skin, and split.
My Tamagotchi, like my mind, sleeps a lot
When you aren’t by me.
You won’t be there tomorrow.
The words I try to say will turn to dust in my throat.
I’ll miss the smoke you blow on the window
I’m here.
My heart beats for you
But only if you listen
I’m in the heat your body gives off
Embraced in your arms
You wish we could hold each throughout the night
But you only have a ladel.
My heart beats for you
And you listen
Everything sounds louder in the night
But only because light drowns out the sound
Everything sounds louder in the night
But only because sight betrays you
Use the force
Only because without light
We rely on forces we didn’t know existed.
Perhaps even,
Love.
