Sci Fi & Fantasy / VEINS OF EDEN mini synopsis

With her marriage a pile of burned memories and her job a foul routine, the middle-aged botanist takes a vacation to a foreign country where she believes the Garden of Eden might have been located.  She stops to admire an odd but beautiful plant on the side of the road.  A thorn rips a vein on her wrist and she rushes to a local hospital.  After the doc has fulfilled life-threatening preliminaries and leaves the room, she notices the wound is rapidly healing, and soon it’s only a scar.  She (terrified, amused and confused) sneaks away, searches unsuccessfully for the plant and then returns in an exhausted condition to her hotel room.(End of Scene of Chapter One).
She arrives back in the States where her 21-year-old daughter has been house sitting while studying for a college exam (a challenging subject not related to botany).  A particular question is baffling her smart mind and the mother gives unsolicited advice.  Naturally (and predictably to allow the discerning reader a “relaxed” state of mind) the advice works and the scene ends with the two of them staring at each other in disbelief.
The mother returns to her job and her ex-best friend mentions how well she looks.  ”You should take a vacation more often.”  The next day she looks ten years younger.  Compliments abound while suspicion arises.  It’s not long before she has to wear special makeup to conceal her youth; she adds wrinkles to her face and bags under her eyes.  She has a few close encounters when her makeup fails and work is no longer a “safe” place.  She calls in sick .
Her friend had noticed her young-looking hands and decides to watch the house.  A snapshot is taken of her retrieving the morning paper.  The picture is developed and the secret is exposed.  This is too much and the friend goes public.
Meanwhile, the botanist’s scar has vanished and a visit to the doc confirms her “perfect” health. Also she scores at an “impossible” genius level on a exam for a new job.  This too cannot be contained and streams of attractive CEO positions are offered. Besides this, the Government, the cosmetic industry, scientists and the Mob all want her secret.  Her house is on the market, a new town and identity is planned (yes, like in a million other plots, but is a realistic progression) and the press won’t leave her alone.
She goes into hiding, sneaks home for important packing, gets followed, and then is abducted.  After a period of unconsciousness she awakens in an unknown environment.  She never sees those in charge.  Every day she is questioned, tells nothing (she’s not sure herself) and her assailants resort to torture.  She manages to escape.  She contacts her daughter and the two disappear.
She not only continues growing younger, but is reduced from a girl to a baby, and finally, an embryo.  In a last ditch effort to save her mother’s life (at the correct stage and time) the daughter inseminates the embryo into her womb and now she is pregnant with her own mother.  The entire pregnancy and delivery is successful—except for one bit of confusion; the daughter gives birth to a boy.
     Stay tuned for a sequel.
