Poetry / Night to Remeber
I walked through the night I call my home
Forever through the darkness I must roam
Through the forest and darkened trees
The wind plays on my face as a gentle breeze
The sounds of the forest fills the air
Just as my heart always fills with despair
But this is just like any night I had before
Walking on the twigs and leaves of the forest floor
I walk past the trees not choosing a single track
When I came upon a lake who’s waters are jet black
Save for one spot at the lakes very center
I wonder what this could mean so I enter
I start to swim to the middle of the lake
As I near the light, the water does break
So I swam away with all my might
I tried to get away from that searing light
But the light engulfed me whole
Taking me away to a place untold
Now I find myself in a chamber
And the face I see I disremember
For she is locked behind this curtain of glass
As I draw near her, I remember her at last
That she is who I was meant to find
I try to wake her, but to the bed she is bind
So here I sit with my love in front of me
But so far apart we can never be
So I sit thinking to myself
Was this a night to remember,
Or is it a night to forget?
