“happiness’” doesn’t need the “s” after the apostrophe.

“They are, it seems, inseparable…”  You need the comma before “it” because it’s a separate clause.

This is true, but not exactly new material.

I don’t like the quote.

Ultimately this quote was an unnecessarily long way of saying you consider two things to be opposite without being exclusive.

I don’t think these human emotions tell us anything about life, and I would say it’s entirely possible to transit this life without experiencing either or both of them.

Not only are they distinguishable, they are not even opposites, not even in the taoist sense.

They are adjectives, tools, complimentary lenses focused by our past experiences through which we interpret new ones, such as how you should react when the “coin of life” smacks you in the face at mach speed.

Also, it’s not clear to me what you mean by “coin of life”.

I think it might be useful if the quote were commenting about the chaos and randomness to which life is subject, and from which it emerges.

I like it. I really love quotes…it reminds me of the thorn and rose one.

This quote really made me think.  I had never thought of life as a coin toss, but it makes a lot of sense.  People often forget that good things and bad things happen pretty equally and it’s how we deal with them that defines our character.  Very insightful, I really like it!

I understand what you are saying. It seems to not roll off the tounge easily, which in turn made me have to read it several times. Could use a little smoothing out. But nice creative comparison, coin/life.

I would have worded it Sadness is the tail to happiness’s head because it seems as though you are explaining the body/makeup of head’s, therefore showing the good and bad side of it… anyhow great quote…

This was good, it had the twist that makes a qoute interesting, the comparison between life and money is interesting as they seem to be inseperable as well. I dont have any suggestions to improve it.

I can see where this might hold true in certain situations, but I am not sure that it is universal. However, it is still an effective quote. Thank you. :)

Well, I’ll throw in my own two cents.  I would change “happiness’s head” to “happiness heads”.  First, “happiness’s” is a mouthful, and quotes need to roll of the tongue, and second, the phrase is a play on “Heads or Tails”  so you need to stay true to the plural “Heads”.

I would also alter the second phrase as follows:

They are, it seems, the coin of life.

Again for ease of memory and verbal delivery.
