Poetry / Blank Skies (Analysis)
blank skies over a city horizon
stars blacked out by smog and hate
a dull gray haze rreflecting the street lights
the side effects of a civilized state
we follow the leader like sheep in a heard
misinformed people leading the confused
paying the penance for their mistakes
we the people are lost and used
i wake up to an ozone of agent orange
news says the airs not safe for the young and overaged
but the working class hero needs to suit up
how can we perpetuate the cycle if you dont get paid
soldiers in the streets disquised in gas maskes
to pick up the people when they fall outta line
take a deep breath of death and get back to work
our currupted master tells us everythings fine
now we live in the valley of the shadow of death
subcoming to evil so that we can survive
teaching diplomacy with an m-16
bloodshed and destruction coming at you live
we cant blame the leaders when we accept the pain
we just move in land as the oceans are risin
we just lay on our rooftops, sigh and stare
at blank skies, over a city horizon
