Lyrics / As the Eagle Flies to Victory (Analysis)
An impassioned poet, my little girl
Eyes magnified by her grandmother's glasses
I yearn to touch her prose with light
Does she feel my waves of regretfulness?
Does she know how I dream about her tender giggle?
Does she search for love and another's comforting embrace?
Life carries us along as a raging river
Sometimes the taker, sometimes the giver
Some a leaf that is tossed from shore to shore
I long to be the boat that frees her from the storm
To save her from drowning, in those engulfing waves
Such self-importance must be put aside and lost
For she is part of me, a survivor, at any cost!
An impassioned lover, my little girl
Sitting on her daddy's lap, eyes wide with admiration
I yearn to touch those eyes with insight of my own
Does she feel my pride and aspiration?
Does she know how I dream about her sense of humor?
Does she search for answers in another's comforting words?
Life carries us along as the changing seasons
Sometimes the rhyme, sometimes the reason
Some of the fruit that passes on its seed and fades away
I long to be a golden field of wheat straw reaching out
To feel her rain and sunshine make me strong enough to harvest
Such self-importance must be put aside in love be given voice
For I am part of her, a survivor, with a choice!

as far as this being lyrics, i dont know. it makes a good poem, but as lyrics, i cant hear the melody, it dosnt seem to flow musically. and i dont see how the title has anything to do with the actually poem. good, but if its supposed to be a song, make it flow a little better.
