Poetry / Again They Will Go
The skyline glows with a rusty haze,
While the smoke billows from a growing blaze.
In the station, the siren cuts through the peaceful hush.
Everyone comes alive in an organized rush
Down to the trucks and donning their gear,
They leave behind warm beds, dreams and even their fear.
Race down the street; ‘round the corner and through the light,
Each one prepares mentally for the coming fight.
At the scene there is chaos and confusion by all
Except for those arriving to answer the call.
Like a well-oiled machine, each plays a part,
Doing their jobs with a conscious of heart.
The neighbors watch in awe. A family in dismay,
At the destruction left behind the unbridled fray.
All through the night and into the dawn
They work without rest while the fight goes on,
Until the victory, which comes bitter-sweet.
The home reduced to ashes blowing into the street.
But all is not lost…Thanks to these men.
Everyone is alive and can rebuild again.
It’s back to the station to stow all the gear
Before going to their own homes to hold their loved ones near.
With thoughts of the family who just lost their home,
They shed a quiet tear as they embrace their own.
They are proud of their service, but thank God they are home.
For them there is peace ‘till a cry for help and again they will go.

Hello,
Well, it was quite easy to see and feel the topic, very well done, perfect visual clarity entwinded with all the emotions that are part of this wonderful job. One small change I would make but hey, you are the twriter.
“They leave behind warm beds, dreams and even their fear.”
It conveys great pride and spirit but consider just for flows sake to leave out ‘and even their” and change fear to fears. It works well with dreams in plural. I have read a lot but never a piece from this unique perspective, stay safe and thank you for what you sacfifice. Your closure was great. Nicely done.

It’s Beautiful. It really makes you think about how unappreciated they are.
For the critique – Your missing only a few puncuations, but you put in a lot more than I would have. I’m horrid that way.
