This comes off more as a quote, more so than poetry. Maybe switch the section, because as a quote it’s resounding and has a great impact, but as poetry, it seems a little short and stunted.

If you change the section it’s in though you have a rather beautiful quote.

Not too many poetic elements in this one. You play out the idea of your statement very explicitly. Usually poetry happens to involve a more intricate way of making the meaning implicit and to make images, beauty, sensory perceptions, and the like explicit. Like a gift (the meaning) gift wrapped (in poetry).

Just my opinion. More of a quote this one.
