Okay, then, as for an actual review, this is good, but it might be more accessible if it were in a 3rd person context. Like, “It’s not enough to be someone’s first love….”

If you stay with the 1st person, which is still quite good, I’d add a little bit at the end to clarify things. ”... you were the first person to love me back”.

Thanks for your review. Good suggestion but a little too much clarity. If I reposted I would definitely remove “one”.
If I went with the 3rd person I might have to change the title to Ugly Duckling Girls Like HER :)

I love the title, it tells much more of a story than your actual quote does. But then the 2 combined are so intriguing and beguiling that it really draws the reader in.

I can imagine so many scenarios in my head of all the possible things that could have happened between you two and that is what makes an effective piece of writing!

Okay,the qoute almost contradicts itself, but it’s a good thing in this case. I think you should add “ever” inbetween “who” and “loved me” To be honest, I don’t like the tittle it seems to have no relation to the topic, I understand where your point is coming from though. You can keep the aspect of that tittle with a more fitting one like “First love for and Ugly Duckling.” I like the quote though! Good job.

the title is kind of irrelevant, but nonetheless a heartfelt sentiment. keep up the good work.

the title does a lot to bring this some relevance, its honest and sad. I think a lot of people will relate to your overall point because so many are regretfully in this exact situation, both males and females. Its good I have no offerings for improvements.
