It’s very good, an artist myself that’s very true and personal
to you. Very inspirational :)

Ah, it’s a bit too corny for me, this one. Also, I would probably have re-worded it to “Found my voice, gained my freedom”.
This is so true!
I love this, defining an artists life always hits home with me. Being an art’s student it always gives me a warm feeling knowing there are other people out there in the same boat and defining it much better than I!
This is one of the better quotes I have seen, no room for improvement. Perfect.
Keep writing – good luck.
Simple and elegant. Nothing more needing to be said.
Gained my freedom…”freedom of expression”? It has been with you your entire life. A lot said in a very small amount of words and more significant than what’s been said
I really like what your saying here. Art is the way to find your freedom. Without art, there would be no freedom to be gained in expression. But in a quote you still need correct grammar which you did bend a little. Before “Gained” and an I, and before “found” but something like “then”. But you are one of the few who can actually think deeply. Keep on truckin’.
So much learned and so much to learn in just six words. What was imprisoning the writer? How did they gain their freedom? Was it physical or metaphysical? No matter, the voice is clear. A good six word memooir on the creative life.
This quote sounds nice, but it doesn’t particularly speak to me or grab my attention. Hmm…
Hey, what if you were to switch out the comma for a colon?
Gained my freedom: found my voice.
...thus binding the two together. I really like it that way. It more explicitly says what I think you’re going for – that you exercise your freedom through your voice; that, until you could speak completely as yourself, you could not be free.
I think it really makes people rethink how much freedom means and what it feels like to be free
