Poetry / It's Not
Love is not selfish or cruel.
It’s the scissors of vanity
that slices through the caring bonds.
Love is not lazy, offensive, or weak.
It’s vanity that cuddles comfort’s
exaggerating dreams.
It’s not love that breaks hearts.
Love is a blessing; love is pure glee.
But, we are surrounded by countless imitations
that often love lives only as a dream.

I had to read the last 2 lines a few times before I got what you were saying. Consider inserting “such” before “by countless imitations.”
Beautifully written. It’s nice to see someone not blaming love for everything.
