Poetry / Sallow
Sallow
I've dragged my Colours,
through chambers of the earth.
Growing in the shadows of Seasons,
Why sibling's seeds, cling to their roots,
their nimbuses above a thorny bower.
We are bound forever, by our oaks bed.
Humble acorns- babe's of the Skyline.
My skinny arms try to carry his face,
But the first always steals the Grandeur-
direct blood courses through its Veins.
Yet ardent I am, to stand tall, catching the Sun.
The golden clips lost on its first horizon.
Pride perspires in sallow Sweat-
That runs down my arms,
absorbing my Colours.
My mutant head rests,
among the slivers of your Span.
Dreaming of heights, and clouds to Devour.
But I have no face; I just look up at yours,
The nimbuses above the thorny Bower…

Wow this is a beautiful piece. I love how you have compared the family tree to a live forest. I like how you have compared the experience of being the middle child to that of a thorny bower, I dont’ think there could be a better way of saying how you felt stuck in the postition. Unable to grow to the sky without the shadows of your siblings letting you know of your place in the world.
Nicely Done
