Short Story / signed Love, Mother
when the phone rings at 3:47am something must be wrong.
you grab blindly in the dark to catch it on the second ring.
thru your medicated haze you wrap your arms around the voice on the other side.
it's your son.
you know that. your beloved baby,
reaching out in the pre-dawn light struggling to be a man.
using only your voice, you cuddle and calm him.
straining to hear every word; you wrap him in your comfort zone. i hear you, i can feel your pain, i am here always.
speak to me, tell what you need?
