Limericks / Obama Limerick (July 24, 2009)
Bamster, you've created a drama:
Mr. Gates and James Crowley's mama
(who was quickly replaced
by your babble on race)...
Who is stupid? Barack H. Obama.

Sort of narrow minded insight on it. Extremely funny, I enjoyed it.

I do not know much about limericks, so please forgive this remedial response. I think it reads very well and very quickly. It’s a little hateful but I noticed the website you are propping, so this must be apropos to the overall work shown there. Nice job!
Clever and quick. I might change “stupid” to another word with more punch but as I can’t think of one off the top of my head go with it.
It is direct and to the point!
I am thinking of a substitute
for the word stupid…maybe
foolish, an imbecile, anal,
or maybe even how cliche’.
This made me laugh. An opinionated limerick, good job.
Lordy, if you aren’t consistent. It’s a perfect limerick, of course.
i typically refer a more traditional limerick, either with a moral or a joke at the end. this is structured well enough, but i think you should replace the word babble with something else. it runs together to read like Babylon, stopping the flow of the limerick.
Mr. Gates and James Crowley’s mama
(who was quickly replaced
by your babble on race)...
If you’re going to do political satire you better make it good. The line “Mr. Gates and James Crowley’s mama” doesn’t fit or show a purpose except to rhyme with “drama” but makes no sense.
(who was quickly replaced
by your babble on race)...
Who and what was quickly replaced by babble on race. Their “mama’s” why?
The only line that fit into the poem after the first line was the last one.
Take a lesson from Ogden Nash, or anyone before you try political satire again.
well at least it rhymes but …. other than that, its too short.
