Limericks / Obama Limerick (July 2, 2009)
This is one in a long (250+ so far) series of limericks dedicated to Mr. Obama's administration, and it addresses the White House press secretary, Mr. Gibbs.
If someone does not follow the news, please refer to any of Mr. Gibbs statements available on YouTube and throughout the Internet (the latest one being a White House briefing on new and improved SnitchCare).
There once was a dummy named Gibbs,
whose performance was tied to his lips.
But his brain was attached
to his a#@, and they matched,
thus creating a total eclipse.

You probably want to take some of the comments you put in the piece and put them back under notes :)
After “lips” I’d take out the period and let it flow. And I’d also take the comma out after the a#@ as well.

I thought that was pretty funny, and I’m not just saying it because I voted for Mr. Obama’s opponent.
Hi. This time I can’t fault your rythmn, but I will have a go at you for rhyming Gibbs with Lips and Eclipse.
At the risk of misquoting someone important, I believe it was Churchill who said “if you’re going to insult me, at least spell my #$%%ing name right.” In this case, he would say, ”...at least find something that rhymes with my name”.
How about: fibs; squibs, ribs, nibs, ad-libs… ...man, I can see some funny stuff coming out of that.
No offence caused to me. Just another news story to look up.
As always amusing.
Ouch! OK even our political opinions may differ I have to admit to the fact that this a very well written limerick and that you can almost picture it in your mind! :-)
chuckle this is quite humorous. i enjoyed the reference to a posterior also been called the “moon”. slightly confusing there how they matched. perhaps clear that up a little? matched in size? or consistency? or intelligence? just some ideas… overall pretty good. still think it should be limited though
HAHAHA clever. I enjoyed it for what it is. The syllables are right on… Not much else to say, but a fun piece.
I’m not familiar on how to critique limericks, but it sounds good. If this is not a good review, then refund the credits.
Political satire is like good sex, it will never get old or go out of style. Obama is on the hot-seat right now and i think people have a right to express their opinion. I, for one, want to see some of the changes he has promised us. I like the limmerick. I like how match rhymes with attached. I would just write out ass but it is still effective and maybe even funnier with the symbols. Now, can you write one titled “Obama says he won’t unplug grandma” Sandi
What can I say? This is humorous rather you agree or not.
