Poetry / The Storm
The dark sky kisses the the thick air
Hot and sticky my body is moist with sweat
The thunder rolls in the distance
The rain starts slowly at first
Then in one split second flooding rain
Drenched to my core I shiver
The fear of lightning in my heart
A crack and a strike
The bright blue light of the lightning
Strikes the ground infront of me
I ramble short prayers
As I run quickly to shelter
The beauty of the storm calms my fears
And I feel safe once more.
