EDEN EPISODE ONE “Sowing Seeds” 2
ALISON FARTHWRIGHT
I'm turning down your offer
because I don't trust you.
Aaron's eyes go WIDE for a moment, betraying his shock, but the expression quickly passes, replaced with his typical stoic mask.
AARON CANNING
(Murmuring)
I see... I suppose I'll have to
take my project elsewhere.
ALISON FARTHWRIGHT
I wouldn't recommend it.
AARON CANNING
Is there something you know that I
don't?
Alison smiles smugly. She brings her hands away from her face and folds them on the desk.
ALISON FARTHWRIGHT
No, but I do know something you're
not sharing.
She doesn't wait for Aaron to get a word in, despite the fact that he opens and works his mouth, trying to speak.
ALISON FARTHWRIGHT (CONT'D)
You're a cheat and a hack, Aaron. Your
father's money was the last of what you
had to spend and it's gone. I just want
to know what your real project is. What
is it that's so important to you, that
you're approaching every major CEO in
the area to sell... sell this!
Alison PICKS UP her own stack of manila envelopes. They are all open. She THROWS them down on the top her desk. A label reads PHARMACEUTICAL OPERATION.
ALISON FARTHWRIGHT (CONT'D)
Whatever you're up to Aaron, I'd stop.
No one sane is going to back this, and
if you get someone who will, well...
Let's just say something about strange
bedfellows.
