My first question is “why have you got more ratings boxes than words?” I missed the story altogether on the first glance at the page.
Second, you’ve used a lot of very tough word groups – it’s almost a tongue twister (which counts it out as a quotable quote for me, though others may argue this enhances it’s value). I’d definately not start with the “Through whose…”
Third, I have no idea what exactly you’re trying to say…
It’s tough to offer advice on how to improve a 7-word story, but I truly think this needs a little more work to make it clear, crisp and concise.

The piece itslef has a deep base, but its structure is flawed: “whose” is relating to a question more than it is signifying to a particular individual. Unless you are refering to life being “whose understandings” upon which we may gain a better understanding of ourselves, or such, it leaves the quote confusing. But I enjoy the word order, allowing a Confucious style of thinking.

I tried this 15 different ways, got dizzy, and this is the best I could come up with:

We understand those through their understandings.

Not quite right- I know.
