Crime, Thrillers & Mystery / Prologue

Play along. That was the secret. If you played good, you could get some hours alone. Maybe even a day off. And every minute alone was a blessing. Only you had to keep tabs of the lies you told and the people you lied to. But that wasn’t very hard. Still a mortal could remember just so many of them and therefore you slipped sometimes. Like I did now. And this time it was bad. They caught me talking to him… or as they said, to me. I thought I was alone. Just had I taken my special medicine, and by taking it I meant flushing it down the toilet. Just like every day, in the morning some sister, more like the sister of hell if you asked me, came to you and gave you the pills which you had to take in order to be normal, to cure yourself. And you played along. At first they would watch you swallow them, but if you play along and pretend to be normal they would eventually leave you alone. Till you get caught. You see, you master playing your role of being normal every day till it gets routine. Then you become sure that you’ll never get caught and take less and less precautions. It’s human to do so. You don’t, like, think you won’t get caught and lower your precautions. They just lower themselves gradually, insignifically till it’s too late. And you get caught. And then you get that speech which always started with “Why, I’m so disappointed with you. Why didn’t you take your pills today? ...” and I would naturally deny it, because my slips weren’t that big. Quite the contrary, they were things like laughing alone or sneezing twice. And you had to be stupid to believe that those were unnatural things. They were just checking you and usually you got away easy with things like you remembered the joke your mom told you about when you were very little. Not that I did. As a matter of fact I don’t remember her, not even the color of her hair. Better that way. Whatever joke my only friend told me was much more interesting, true and finally funny than any memory I had since ever. Those pills screwed with my mind. My memory is very blurred , and probably not real, anyway. That’s what happens when they consider you mental and you end up in this shithole. And if everyone considered you the most mental in a hospital for the crazy people, your luck was clearly missing. But, I guess that’s what happens when your being is covered in blood and you answer to all the questions that he did it. This happening like 4 years ago, and my biggest problem here was that I said that he killed him, I just screwed it again. And this time it was some big one.

All because of them.

This happening like 4 years ago,-This happened four years ago

I really like this..it’s kind of creppy. I would say creat some paragraphs to spread it out a little. Also you use the word like a lot…if your character is young it works because that’s how a lot of kids talk…I do it sometime also..but when reading it, like it gets like kind of annoying. Beside that I like this.
