PROLOGUE
15th Century
Romania, Bucharest
I knew my brothers intentions were false from the start. So many years ago, I had seen it coming but never did I wanted to believe that they were treacherous and evil like our father. Can you believe my own brothers are fighting against me? My own brothers swung their swords at me. We had been through so much together. We fought along side each other, and still our ambitions are not the same.
It is funny how a man’s ambition can change from childhood. People never seem to be the same when they reach their prime, because their initiatives eventually takes over. World re-modification is what we are fighting for, and to see what empire can seize the lands of Europe. Afterwords, taking over the heavens.
The war as been going on for over fifty years between me and my brother, and the verdict hadn’t been decided yet. My victory was close but the enemy is strong. I can’t endure it anymore. Sometimes a just want to wave the white flag. But I’m not a failure. I can’t allow my children, and my children’s children fate to be condemned by my own because I am a coward and weakling. I must stay strong no matter what. No matter what my enemies throw at me.
My bones had become dense, my limbs had become weak, and my muscles are sore from so many wars and from years and years of combat. Not to mention, my navy-blue and black armor grew heavy as it is stained with the blood of the many enemies I had slain. But I still got to keep moving. I had to win this battle. The sun was still high and it felt has if the sun will never set. If feels like this battle has been going on for days. I had lost track of time and my body is weary. In my hundred plus years of fighting, I’m still not used to the sight of bloodshed. Fortunately, old age didn’t reach me as yet. I still look and feel like a thirty-year-old. The Gods of Mount Olympus has been merciful to me. They have granted me a chance to live for over a hundred years.
“Vigora! Your fate ends here. This victory is mine!” A cry came forth as I looked to my left and I saw my eldest brother named, Xamon.
“Brother, we are from the same womb. We are from the same mother. So why do we fight a meaningless battle?” I asked Xamon.
He then said to me, “A meaningless battle this is not. You turned against us and now you shall pay for you betrayal.”
Only a few of my soldiers remain to fight this war. Therefore, I was drawn from my position as a overseer of the battle. I watched my men being chopped down one-by-one to support my cause. I cannot watch my men throw their lives away anymore. I had to join this battle.
Xamon took his Viking helmet off as his long white hair blew in the dusty wind. Xamon white hair was long down to his back. His burgundy and black armor looks heavy, and though we are triplet brothers, he had grown much bigger than me and he is able to move around freely in his huge armor. On his elbows, Xamon had horns he used to spear his victims if he was without a sword. Our hair was not white because of our old age but because of our ‘cursed bloodline’. Our white hair symbolizes ‘Alpha-ism’. We are mortal men born from great generals and children of gods. We were descendants of Achilles
“You know you can’t win this fight. I had received a vision from Orion, and I saw your defeat.” I said.
Xamon laughed aloud then he asked, “A vision? Did you see that we, I and our little brother made a separate deal the ‘God of Death’. And that we had sold our soul to him?”
My eyes widened after what I had heard. I refused to believe him, I knew it couldn’t be true. Though the God of Death, Thanatos, takes life; he has the power to give everlasting life as well. I knew my brothers were foolish but I knew they know better.
“ ‘The God of Death Thanatos’, now owns your soul? And you drag our little brother in you path to destruction? Why big brother, why did you do it?” “For supreme power and immortality. What do you think? Thanatos promised us everlasting life when we win this war.” My younger brother named, Victor, declared as he mounted from his black stallion.
Victor was the ruthless one of us three. He wears an all black armor with horns on each shoulders. His hair was a little shorter than Xamon- about shoulder length. I on the other hand, had a short-cut, with the side of my head shaved off completely.
` “My dear brother. Father always said you were soft at heart. You are destine to fall by my sword.” Xamon said to me.
“You and father are just alike. Why do you think he died? He was on the path of destruction from the very start. Why do you think he is not around to share your glory?” I asked Xamon.
“Father was on the path to something remarkable. He was on the path to immortality, and so are we. For centuries we have searched for the Thanodian Empire, and by the grace of Ares, we found it.” Victor hectored.
“You also made a deal with the God of War? You fools, you should have known the consequences for serving two masters.”
Victor slowly approached me with his sword in his hand, ready for combat. I pulled my sword from its sheath also and prepared to defend myself. Though my brothers have lived for over a hundred years, they want to become gods also.
“Little brother, I taught you all you know about swordsmanship. Why do you draw your sword at me?” I asked Victor.
“Vigora, I am grateful for your teachings. Indeed, you are a supreme swordsman, best in all of Europe. But together, me and Xamon can take you down.”
Victor looked at our older brother to see if he will join us in combat. Instead, Xamon folded his hands across his chest, showing he would stay out of our conflict. My older brother was known for his sneak attacks. He was like a venomous snake patiently waiting to strike, so I have to watch out for him.
Victor was standing about ten feet away from me, he suddenly vanished in a blink of an eye and before I saw it, he re-appeared and swung his sword at me. Luckily, I blocked it in time with my sword. A moment later and he would have chopped me down. He was using his ‘Time Stream’ technique that allows him manipulate time. He can stop time and appear from any direction without being noticed.
“Your Time Stream does not work on me. I saw it before you made your move.” I said to Victor.
Victor vanished again and before I noticed he was behind me. He chops me in the back with his sword, shredding my armor before I could stop him. Momentarily, I fell on my knees.
I suddenly snap my fingers and time rewind before Victor had sliced me in the back. Time had rewind, and again I was standing before my little brother after his first attack. He attempt to appear behind me, but because I knew the outcome, I kicked him aside before he could make his move. I had the upper hand because I have the ability to un-do what he had done to me with the snap of a finger.
My brothers and I cannot use our abilities to kill each other. We can use it to duel one-another but our mother wanted us to avoid conflict so she asked the gods to create a ‘restriction’ to let us not use our abilities to harm another sibling. However, Xamon made a separate deal with Ixion, one of Ares children to remove ‘his’ restriction, enabling him to use his powers against us. Victor can only stop time to move faster but he cannot stop time and kill me, because he would be breaking our mother’s law.
“Vigora is using his ‘Resetting Technique’. Be careful Victor.” Xamon instructed our younger sibling.
“Humph. ‘Do-over’ was what we called your technique when we were children. The technique you used to saved that bird I shot with my Slingshot.” Said Victor.
“Yes, luckily I had the ability to go back in time to save the helpless bird. Your were cruel as a child and still you are, little brother.” I mentioned.
“We will see how long your are able to keep up your Resetting Technique against my Time Stream.”
Suddenly, Victor attacked me with his super fast jabs and swings from his sword; they barely missed my body. My younger brother seemed fast because he is manipulating time again. But still, I am able to keep up with him.
Then out of nowhere, my older brother, Xamon joins the fight. He caught me off guard as he swings his sword and cut the gauntlet on my forearm; barely missing the flesh of my arm. Then I asked, “Two against one. You two are not playing fair.”
Now that Xamon had joined the fight I knew they will have the upper hand. My brothers are mightier when they combine their strength.
“I grew tired of watching you both dancing around. Time to end this.” Xamon declared as he rushed in and swung his sword at me again. Both of my sibling mercilessly attacked me. They had the handicap but their skills are nothing compare to mine because I was a formidable swordsman. I taught them most of what they knew about swordsmanship. But the outcome changed the moment they used their special abilities.
I was off guard as Xamon caught me with his ‘Puppeteer Technique’. I was trapped, and unable to move a muscle. Xamon, then manipulated me to walk towards him. He then raised me off the ground and extended both my arms out to the side; like a crucifying position. I tried to break free but I was not able to. I even tried to use my Resetting Technique but I couldn’t focus or move my fingers either to use it.
Me and my brothers had a cursed ability, and we did not age since our thirtieth birthday. Victor had the ability to stop time. He was a time manipulator. Xamon have the power to control others with just a thought, a master puppeteer he was. I on the other hand, was more exceptional than my brothers. The gods had gave me superiority in combat. My skillfulness lies in swordsmanship and the power to change the outcome of my reality, five minutes prior to what had happen. I was a time and space manipulator.
Victor laughs as he slowly approaches me. My generals prepared to rescue me but Victor stopped time the moment they interfered. I could see everything as he saw it. Everyone was frozen in time except for me, Xamon and Victor. This was the first time I saw his power as he did. Was it because my time of death was close? Are my brothers going to finish me off once and for all?
Then, Victor’s sword impaled my chest and I was helpless to do a thing about it. My body became weak as my life slipped away from me. Xamon then releases me from his Puppeteer Technique.
“The fall of the mighty Vigora, by our hands. How does it feel brother, to be finally be defeated by us?”
I tried to undo what they had done but I didn’t have enough strength. My space and time technique will not work if I do not have enough energy. Plus the pain was too much for me to bear; my energy drained away slowly. I fell to my face breathing heavily.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of thunder and the very earth I laid upon began trembling. I slightly raised my head and saw my brothers walking away backwards in fear.
‘Who had come to my rescue?’ I asked myself. I heard footsteps approaching me from behind and I tried to turn to see who was it but the wound in my chess was too much to endure.
“As the ‘gods of Olympus’ have come to my rescue?” I asked aloud as I roled on my back.
“No father, it is I. Your son, the Might Orion. Master of the Warhammer of Zeus.”
My son, Orion approached me and rested his hands on my chest, Then he said, “A gift from the gods, father, I have brought.”
I began to feel my strength returning to me and my wound began to heal as he rests his hand on me. The gods had been merciful yet again and gave my life back to me. My successor had come to my aid, and I stood up and greeted him. I was delighted to see my son.
Orion was a mighty warrior, and he was my only son. He wielded the Warhammer of Zeus, a mystical weapon forged by Zeus himself and he wore the white armor of Cronus and the red cape from a Spartan warrior. Orion had master it’s thunder and lightning element. My son was born an immortal. He is the son of Thalia, one of the nine Muse’s. He also posses superhuman strength and invulnerable to physical damage. Unlike us, Orion had black spiky hair and a long ponytail. He had never lost a battle in his twenty plus years of combat. Warrior and kings have declared he was mightier than me and my brothers.
“So Orion, you have come to your father’s rescue. A minute later and we would have handed his head over to you.” Xamon says.
“Threats don’t mean a thing to me, phantom. Your journey ends here.” Orion declares.
“Phantom? What rash remarks you make?” Victor ask.
“I have seen you fate, a phantom you will become, a lost soul. Thanatos will never accept you.” Orion answer.
“Our path to immortality is near. After we defeat you and you father, we will receive ever-lasting life from the God of Death himself. We will live to see many centuries more.” Victor roared.
“Foolish human. Do you think the God of Death will grant you immortality? He only promises you to be phantoms. Corpse with everlasting lives you will become.”
“Too bad. Your father will share the same fate as us. Our father make sure to that.” Xamon said aloud.
Orion looked at me for an answer but I didn’t know how to tell him. I could see the shock and dis-believe in his eyes.
“What does he mean, father. What foolishness your brothers mumbles about?” Orion asked me.
“ A century ago, our father made a deal with the Death God, Thanatos. My father told Thanatos to grant him the power to defeat his enemies and in return he will offer his children to him as his servants. Unfortunately, our father died trying to please Death. And in his stead, we were chosen to complete what our father had promised. For years we served the Death God and he did what he had promised us. He kept us alive for over a hundred years to serve him. But I had a change of heart. I did not want to do Thanatos’s bidding anymore. I turned on my brothers, and this is why our swords are meeting today.”
Orion’s eyes widened at my story, then he looked down on the ground; he seemed to be lost in thoughts. I wish I knew what my son was thinking at this moment.
Orion looked at me as he rest his hammer on his shoulder. He smiled at me then asked. “Is that why the world of ‘Thanodia’ was promised to us? Is that why we fought for the control of this land?”
I did not understood what he meant but I knew my son had a reason for his questions. I then asked, “What do you mean son? What is Thanodia?”
“Thanodia is the world that his promised to us immortals from Thanatos, a place of paradise. I soon cannot live on earth anymore. My place is in the other world of the immortals. I have seen it in my visions.” My son declares.
Orion had another unique ability. The gods had cursed him with the ability of an ‘Oracle’; to see his future and ours. He had seen his fate and it was not a beautiful one. He had seen the fate of his son also. A boy to be born under the star, Bellatrix, A millennium and a half from now.
“That is what we fight for now. After we conquer the world, we will enter Thanodia. Sad to say but you and your father are the gateway to there.” Xamon said to me and my son.
“You know you can’t win against us. I brought the Philosopher Stones with me,” Orion declares.
“ ‘Philosopher Stones’? Those cannot hurt us.” Victor shouted as he laughed.
“Come on then. Lets do battle!” Orion taunted him.
My brothers were not foolish. They knew that my son was a mighty warrior. They knew their abilities will not work against him. Only a god can challenge my son equally.
My brothers were on there defences as my son walked towards them slowly. I could see the fear in them. They were afraid of my immortal son.
Orion didn’t waste anytime on lingering. With is Warhammer he struck the ground and the sound of thunder echoed as the earth tremble. The shock and power from his hammer caused my brother to lose their balance and fell to the ground. Orion lifted his hammer towards the heavens and the sky suddenly turned dark. Lightning flashes and thunder strikes above us. The lightening then struck my son’s Warhammer and it was fuel with energy. Lightning emitted from his hammer and he prepared to strike my brothers down.
“Great God of War, Ares. Help us!” Xamon shouted as he raised his hands and eyes towards Mount Olympus.
My son was shocked at his cry. I knew my brothers had made a deal with the God of War, also. Not a wise choice they had made.
Orion’s hammer stopped glowing with lightning and the thunder above us became quiet. Orion analyzed his hammer as he wondered what had happen. It seems the God of War had took the power away from it.
“The God of War has come to our rescue. Orion’s Warhammer is no more.” Xamon declared.
In the blink of an eye Victor was in my sons reach and he swung his sword to chop him down. Orion noticed and dodged it just in time. I rushed to my son’s aid before my brother harm him. But then, Xamon caught me with his Puppeteer Technique again. With a gesture of his hand Xamon swung me and collided me with Orion. We both fell on the battleground.
“Don’t think because the God of War had come to your rescue, that mean you can escape my wrath.” Orion said to my brothers.
Though me and my son faced defeat he still his willing to fight our enemies. He was not a person to accept defeat. That was why he never lost a battle.
My brother, Victor rushed in to chop my son’s head off. Surprisingly, Orion shot a bold of lightning from his palm and hit my little brother in his chest. Victor sailed backward and fell on his back about a hundred feet away. I had never seen my son done such a thing before. I was in awe at his ability.
Xamon rushed to Victor to see if he was still alive. Luckily, he was still breathing but unconscious. Orion then approached Xamon slowly ready to strike him down also. Xamon reaches one of his hand out and trapped my son in his Puppeteer Technique. Orion was unable to move. Soon enough, Xamon slowly pulled him closer to chop him down. I ran to aid my son’s aid but Xamon caught me with his Puppeteer Technique with his other hand and threw me aside like a paper in the wind.
Xamon then turned his attention to my son once more. He readied himself to impale Orion with his sword. I prepare to use my Time Stream Technique to save him. But to my surprise, Orion broke free from my brothers technique and whacks him with Warhammer in his chest. Xamon fell on his back, rolled and landed on his knees; as he vomited blood. The wound was fatal but my older brother still clung to his life. Orion was panting from exhaustion of my brothers forceful technique.
“I told you... your foolish tricks will not work on me.” Orion said while panting heavily.
“Mighty God of Death! We have bring our enemies to the brink of defeat. Please grant us what you had promised us. Please grant us immortality!” Xamon shouted towards Mount Olympus. Because of our weakened state, Thanatos can claim our life at any moment. But thanks to our father’s ritual, we may still live to see eternity. I could feel the heavens opened above our heads as Thanatos pour immortality on me and my brothers. The God of Death as fulfilled his promise to us.
“You may have won this battle, my nephew. But mark my words. I will return in a ‘millennium and a half’ from today, and I will take this world and change it in my own image.” Xamon declared.
The wound my son inflicts upon Xamon slowly healed because Thanatos spared him momentarily. My younger brother Victor, sat up. He too was filled with the power of immortality. Though my brothers had become immortals their strength had not fully recovered.
“No worries... My son ‘Bellatrix’ will be waiting for your return.” Orion said short windily.
I slowly walked over to my son and said to him, “Son, let us not let them get away. I sense great pain and horror after their return to this world and I’m afraid we may not be here when they do. Let us banish them to the Phantom Realm.”
“Indeed, father. Let us combine our strength for one last attempt.”
Xamon and Victor’s eyes widens after our comments. They new of the horror in the Phantom Realm. A place as this will turn any man inside out. A ghostly place where demons and specters dwells. A secondary realm to Hades.
“You may be strong, Orion, but now we are immortals. We are equal in strength. You cannot banish us to another realm.” Victor declared.
“You fools. We are not equal. You are slowly transforming into phantoms. Your skin is changing color.” I said to my brothers.
They were shocked to see what I had said was true. My brothers’ appearance began to change. Their eyes became white and their skins began to turn into clay as it turns a greyish color. The phantom plague slowly spread throughout their immortal bodies. A phantom is a cursed creature, not to be consume by death or life but a lost soul with a corpse body; opposite to an immortal
“No! God of Death, why did you curse us after what you had promise? Why have we turn into phantoms?” Xamon questioned.
“ You fools. The moment you cry out to Ares to aid you in battle, you had betrayed Thanatos. His punishment for betrayal his a everlasting life of a phantom. You got what you wanted, brothers. Thanatos has grant you a everlasting life... in the abyss.” I said unto them.
Orion had told me this would happened, before we face my brothers. He had saw a vision that my brothers were doomed to become phantoms. Their own gods turn against them.
Me and Orion joined our energies together and aimed at Victor and Xamon, we create a special barrier to bound them from using their abilities. We bring forth seven colored crystal stone that we called, Philosopher Stones. The stones were used to bound my brothers to the Phantom Realm forever. They were used as keys to keep the Phantom Realm closed.
We watched the stones form a circle around my brothers as they were helpless to do a thing. The Philosopher Stones began to rotate around them rapidly; rendering them from moving. I could hear them crying out because of their defeat. Suddenly, a bright light surrounds them and they shot up into the sky. Then they vanish from our site. I loved my brothers dearly and was sad to see what had happened to them. A little sorrow came to my heart after I saw them became phantoms. I knew my brothers were doomed the moment they turned against me. But I had to help seal their fate.
“They will return, father. But when they do, we will be waiting,” Orion said.
* * * *
Weeks later, after the battle with my brothers, my son had told me about a vision he had. In that vision he said my brothers had returned to face us once more on a planet called, Third Earth, a world in another dimension. He said that my brothers had children of their own and they aid them in their battles, He said also, I had sacrificed my immortality for a sector named, Blue Haven. I was that colony’s champion and I had become an Icon to them. We managed to stop them from destroying the planet and won the battle against the phantoms, banishing them back to the Phantom Realm. After our sacrifice, the Death God Thanatos, had grant us access to Thanodia, a place of paradise where immortals dwells.
Though we had sent back my brothers to the Phantom Realm, they escaped once again. Because we were not from that world, we were not aloud to interfere any further. Therefore, Orion bore his son to Third Earth in our stead. He said also, that my grandson had three others to help him. ‘The Chosen Ones’ he declared them as. They were the Stars of Orion. Orion’s son name was Bellatrix, and he was his successor. A father passes his legacy to his son.

My Dearest Richard,
First off, I want you to know I love you and I am sorry we never got a chance to get to know each other. My son, you are from a linage of great warriors and gods.
You are the descendant of Achilles and the grandson of Vigora and Thalia. Your birth right his strong, my son, and you are destine for great things.
My time on Third Earth was short lived, and I had to leave you and your mother. I have intrusted you with my powers and abilities, but like all novice, you need a teacher and a friend as well. I have assigned you with Eddy and you can rely on him for anything. He is not only a friend but also your guardian, sent through time to protect you. Excuse his rash behaviors because just like you, he is young and a novice. Therefore, you both can learn from each other. I have affiliate you with my abilities. The power to control the element, lightening and you also possesses super-human strength. But your limits are beyond what I have given you. Like your forefathers, you have the ability to exceed your descendents. There his no limit to what you are capable of, your potential his infinite. But you will grow to accept your destiny and do what others before you had failed upon. You will quell the wicked and take the throne of the immortals.
I hope you get to read this letter, and I hope you will forgive me for not being their when you grow up. But son, I hope you can learn to understand that everything happen for a reason and you will learn the reason why we are not around each other. I love you and can’t wait till we meet each other, eventually.
Your father,
Richard De Arezzo

I’m sorry, but I cannot do any more proofreading on this item; there are simply too many errors, and I’m getting frustrated with it. The feedback I’ve given on the first 4 pages should be enough to show you what kind of errors you need to look for and correct. (The problem with verb tenses is a big problem.)
I do not think the dialogue sounds believable; it is stilted and pompous much of the time, and then it becomes too colloquial, almost slangy.
The fight between the brothers comes across as hokey due to the casual tossing around of all those ‘special move’ names – capitalized, no less. It sounds like bad anime.
About character names: Xamon, Vigora, and… Victor? I think that if you’re going to give two of these brothers such odd names, the youngest should have an equally odd name. Since you’re borrowing quite a bit from Greek myth, perhaps Greek names would work.
“Orion’s son name was Bellatrix” – You do know that “Bellatrix” is a feminine name, don’t you?
