fear rises and falls
from souls around
like waves of the sea
crashing on the ground

flailing and fighting
fire soars high
from friends and foes
burning the blue sky

war
breaks out
falls in
destroys all
kills men
ends life
frees slaves
digs holes
fills graves

I like the unconventional rhyme scheme, however, I think the poem is too short.  One more stanza could make it more visceral.
