Poetry / Fear Frozen/Singing Violent Ends
Fear-frozen
Singing violent ends
A gentle breeze lifts tiny bits of life
Carries them off to distant places
Where unperceived they are enormous
Black leaves stain the forest floor
Faces on the pavement
Welcome to new york
Trampled underneath
One plus one plus one
Here is zero
Now there, now gone
Never noticed
Never noticing
Fear-frozen
Singing violent ends
Great halls ring with laughter
Music there sways with the tremors
Of applause and cheers
Musical voices beautiful speeches
People out peopling, heard now in short breaths and soft moans
A terrible scream somewhere, visceral and savage, pleasure unbound
White doves stain the blue sky
Angels in hell
Welcome to purgatory
Rising for a fall
Up and up and up
Here ends in down
Never looking
Never seen
Fear-frozen
Singing violent ends
