Lyrics / Rain
You stand there with that smile
the one i fell in love with
headed towards the guy of your dreams
walking down the aisle, smile wide
tears heard from around
proud dad at your side
while i stare at the window in my room
wishing that rain would come
All i need is the rain
so i ask for one thing
sacrifice the world tonight
i need the clouds to come in
We grew up together
best friends forever
as we grew the others came
never quite good enough
but always ill remember
those nights that it rained
we stayed inside
and i told you i loved you
All i need is the rain
so i ask for one thing
sacrifice the world tonight
i need the clouds to come in
You told me the same
but i knew it wasnt true
never discussed again
like how im not there now
the happiest day of your life
i see the clouds coming in
maybe one more chance to see
and ill never wish the rain again
All i need is the rain
so i ask for one thing
sacrifice the world tonight
i need the clouds to come in
And maybe with the flooded streets
you’ll come and meet me in a warm embrace
we’ll wash all these things away
and stay forever in this rain.

Hello,
I gave you fairly good ratings on these lyrics, because I liked how you worded what had not happened between you and your friend.
I would probably add to your [chorus]. I feel that it lacks maybe a couple of lines, (above what you’ve already written). Maybe address something like telling yourself: Because I should have let you know, just how much I loved you so. All I need is the rain, so ‘I’ll’ ask for ‘just’ one thing..etc.
Really nice lyrics.
Take care,

hi there,
i read your lyric and like it, especially the way the way you turned therain which is usually a sad thing into a good thing in your case, i also like the song structure..(which you actually have that most lryics here don’t) i think you did a nice job…
i love this! i can definately see a clear story line here. the sentimental sadness is so endearing. and rain during a wedding?...that’s some incredible imagery.
Emotionally, these lyrics invoke a serious saddness in me, a sort of pity, if you will. Usually, with lyrics of despair and angst, it’s usually some teenage poetry in the sense that it’s completely direct. There’s no story, and the only metaphors are used to make anguish seem more horrible than it really is. To see a story evolve, with a central theme of a wedding and raining, is often lost with younger writers, so I applaud you for being able to convey a story in your lyrics. Without knowing the music, I can’t really say much on the structure of the lyrics, so I’ll refrain form naything on that. Overall, these lyrics conveyed a really strong story to give a change of scene on normally chiled emotions and situations.
I liked the lyrics of this song.
Just one question—as if it matters—what genre is it for?I am picturing country but hey I could be wrong.
Nice to read a love poem from a guys perspective once in awhile. As I am not a musician of any kind I have to look at it in a poets perspective—Veres are well written and the bridge is good too.
I don’t know how much more I cansay here to be helpful/critical or what ever good luck with the writing keep it up.
Oh wow!!!! This was awesome. Sheesh I don’t even know where to begin… uhh yeah I oculd definitely feel the passion and intensity that once surrounded this old relationship and the magnitude of hurt that you feel knowing she is now devoting her life to someone else. Asking for the rain to come has been an all too familiar feeling for me. At times when you are down, you want an excuse to stay home and sulk, what better than the rain. I loved the way you made the words fit together so nicely and how you used repitition to fully get your point across.
