6:00am
Does it matter that I have tried? My heart have I not denied?
When is it too far? Where is the point of no return?
Show me and I run from it, sprinting for my life in the opposite direction.
Hold me down and whisper into my ear, chase away my longing for all that causes pain.
I lay on the broken glass trying hard to see my shattered reflection.
As I lay holding myself up on nothing, my blood mixes with the rain.
The mouth inside me screams a warning; it pleads me to run away.
I can’t give in to this, even when it feels so right.
It couldn’t possibly work out, not today.
So I will flee off into the night.
Lend me speed sweet temptress.
