Poetry / I gotta go
I Gotta go, gotta get OUT!
This life reminds me of a treadmill
Running and running
but going nowhere
Mundane is the only way to explain
what I feel
Stuck on slow
Lord take me now!
I can’t express the ease it would be for me if I were to die now
No more worry, no more pain
No more falling, no more failing
Disappointments seem to out way my victories
It seems…
Or maybe
Just maybe
It’s me
See
Life is not to be experienced on the side line
Life is to be defined by initiative
The constant struggle towards progress
Slow it may come
triumph waits for me
the path that I must take is hard and jagged
on the rough side of the mountain
cutting my feet
scaring my hands
blood will pour from my SOUL!
marking the path
so I remember
where
I’ve
been
I must keep my eyes to the heavens
From which my strength cometh
Pulling my way to the top
The top waits for me
The top is for me
The top is my destiny
Always has been
Always will be

I must say that you get out of life what you make of it. If your tired of sitting on the sidelines then get in the game. Get off the treadmill and into the street. I feel like this all the time so I can relate. The only thing I did not like in this poem was how you capitalized “SOUL.” To me, it seemed out of place and too sudden. It took away the mood of the poem and made me think less of it. But I sill like it.
