Quotes / Roses

Now we’re talkin’... :-) Great quote – wouldn’t change a single detail!

These two go together when someone brings or sends a gift--Happy Mother’s Day, Happy Birthday, Congrats--you get 12 red roses and a good wine. Drinking the wine you note how fine the petals are on the roses, something you can’t have on your table all fresh every day. I don’t think chocolates would fit here because they are messy and give stomuch aches- bad times. Someone stuck buying $7 wines all the time will love a good wine, just love it to death. The living flowers signify the  celebration is current still. Rich times, people thinking of people, people sharing the wine, becoming more talkative and friendly, less inhibited—if you count 2 friends  you are reportedly rich. This person has the wine and roses-giver, herself, and whoever celebrates by drinking the wine with her-could amount to a lot of folks at a very good time of her life. a time  rich with color, life, vibrancy. Perfect selection of items to pair! Financially,  expensive things to savor. I never saw “Days of Wine and Roses” but always thought of happy  people warm to the core. Maybe blurry memories, but good ones.

it is nice, but i would say this really belongs within a poem, rather than being a quote. :)

it reads like an opening to me, but after reading other reviews, once i’d done mine, i’ve taken a different view.

Thats also how I began.

It was once a line from a different piece that always sparked an amount of interest that made me wonder if the line made the poem.

So system of elimination brought to the fact that the line must make a pretty good quote, and I’m happy with it.

Nice, rhymes, is simple, is true, isn’t trying too hard to be deep but take out the commas.

I can’t say that is true. In bad times there has be plenty of wine and roses. The sentiment is good.

cute and catchy

Sweet.  Once I got past the “money” thing and the distracting use comma(s) (???), this was quite good. Some depth to it.  Good effort.  Has some natural bounce and “repeatability” to it.
