Poetry / Loving You
Loving you is like loving a corpse.
You are stiff to the touch, lifeless in my arms, yet I cling to you.
I sob on your cold shoulder and beg you to speak to me.
Your lips will never move.
Loving you is like loving a shadow.
You are there with me in the night, my silent companion, but I cannot look into your eyes.
I flip on the light switch and you hide from my sight.
I will never catch you.
Loving you is like loving the wind.
You gently whisper in my ear, a soothing breeze, and then bite me with chill.
I reach for you and grasp nothing but thin air.
You will never hold me.
Loving you is futile, and I am left on the precipice of hope holding nothing but a shattered dream.

I do think this is a great piece and for the record I do not believe that it’s too Cliched. You did a pretty good job here though

I loved this. It’s well thought and very well written. Love the imagery in it. I can see trying to love something you only thought was there. Very good.
