And They Hatch From Eggs!
By
G.T. Roe
Once on an island in the Thesian Pon
Mama Flurry waited while Papa gone
She saw one egg, then two, then four
All the eggs except one more
Began to crack, and break apart
The mother smiled at this start
“Oh, frambulous day!
Hip hip, Horray!”
The mother cried in a voice so gay.
“Papa Flurry! Come quick, with speed
Our babies are hatched, and now will need
Food, and water, love and care
Hurry, now, I do declare!”
All the eggs except just one
Had all their hatching almost done
When Papa came in quite a scurry
There were all his precious flurries
Papa Flurry looked down and smiled
Watching the last egg hatch his child
But when he saw not one eye but two
He wasn’t sure just what to do.
“What’s this” cried Papa, “A nose and ears?”
“Mama, this is no flurry at all I fear!”
“But we can love and raise it all the same,
First of all, what for it’s name?”
“Papa, papa” Mama flurry cried
“I can’t raise this non-flurry hide,
Here’s a shovel, you know what to do
Bash it’s head in black and blue.”
And so Papa Flurry broke the skull in two
And Mama Flurry smiled for she knew…
IT WAS A HUMAN!!!!!!
