Minds trained by violence
Put down the weapons. Put down the hate.
What happened to the love this is a disgrace.
We’ve cast out sex because the church said we’d lose face.
Id rather my children see breast than bullets and hate
What was lost, what happened?
How’d we manage to get in this place?
It’s beyond me how society fell into so much greed.
I guess these days being heartless its easier to fuel the machine.
Pockets get bigger as we lose sight of the real truth.
We’re fighting for causes and the people don’t even know the root.
They tell us lies so we’d get angry and put on our boots.
Get us all riled up so we become mad enough to shoot.
Then they throw fuel on the fire and say it’s the enemies that have nukes.
All the while not knowing we are in the cross hairs of our own government
And our rights are in the noose.
They’ve got us like fish in a barrel.
To naïve to get loose
Or like frogs in a pan,
Where the heat gets gradually introduced.
We won’t know what hit us, until it’s too late to get loose.
Just think we could have avoided all this.
We always had the right to choose.
Who knew this whole time we were doing the fighting,
And in their eyes we were always destined to be used.
But wait this is what you wanted right?
For so long we watched it on TV.
We all thought it was just entertainment at night.
Just imagine where we’d be today if it were all about sex and compassion.
Instead of anger and violence, that put us to sleep at night.
