Poetry / bored and emo (working)

in the morning
I was fishing for reasons
but threw them all back

and I was losing my way
going in circles
in the knee deep water

wondering when the last time was I’d felt this way
but the reasons weren’t answers
they were only the price to pay
for feeling anything other then this scattered

lost the lottery last time
it came time to let it fly
cast myself into the open—on a broken line
left out there to try
to swim without a spine

in the night
I was wishing for company
but turned them all away
I figured I was better off
without them in my way

lost the lottery last time
it came time to let it fly
cast myself into the open—on a broken line
left out there to try
to swim without a spine

Maybe I need to collect myself
then go out through the crowd
Because I swear I listened and I heard
My own heart beat out loud

Got some cool ideas swimming around here (pun intended).  I take this to be a writer’s block poem (song?).  For my money, not much needs to be changed.  I would recomend a later revisiting, though.  If this is a first draft (a god damn good one if so), then it can only get better down the road.
