Poetry / The Person You Thought You Knew
None of you really know me
Who or what I am
What I was
You were all just her friends
And before her
You wouldn’t have liked me back then
Nobody did, I didn’t
And as of now, I’m not going to pretend
The man you thought you knew
Well, he’s dead
And the man you had missed
He’s returned again
Now you have a second chance
To see him for what he truely is
And don’t be suprised
When there’s no smiles or grins
The person that you got to know
Wasn’t really me
Not anymore
An expandable character in a short story
And now that the stories over
The background check has come through
A complete failure, be warned
Because I’m not the person you thought you knew.
