Addiction
Anyone who has had a true addiction will know,
That you don’t get over it in one night, no, no, no!
Sometimes it takes years, sometimes it takes months.
But you can’t put a time on it. That much is for sure.
But how do addictions start? They start off with a little.
You try a little of what you love. Then you want more.
A voice inside your head says, ‘everything in moderation.’
But you stop listening to the voice as the craving takes hold.
Before you know it, you’re hooked. You’re in so, so deep.
You’re falling, my you’re falling. You feel out of control.
If you keep falling then when will the falling finally stop?
It does stop and it stops when you heart hits rock bottom.
Drugs, love and sex. There are just far too many to list.
There are so many kinds of addiction looking for a prey.
They key to addiction is to know your mind’s limitations,
For there is a very fine line between trials and jubilations.
