Is it worth it?

A thief in the night takes something that belongs to you,
To chase or not to chase? Indeed, that is the question.
You give chase but at what cost, is it worth it?

A family member abuses the fact that you are related,
Always testing your patience, always testing your kindness.
Yes, we know blood is thicker than water but is it worth it?

Stuck in a job that you cannot stand but it pays the bills.
You hate being there. Most days your soul feels trapped.
Nonsense! We all have choices. Ask yourself, is it worth it?

Relationship, oh relationships, I could write several books.
Cheats are so often tolerated abusers are so often excused.
You find reasons but cannot find this question; is it worth it?

Your partner does not satisfy your needs. You! Hostage of habit,
You want to leave for pastures new but fear has paralysed you.
Are their feelings greater than yours, are they? Is it worth it?

Someone you really love is fading right before your very eyes.
They want to leave this world, but you want them to stay.
But your soul is not trapped in their body. So, is it worth it?

Should not choices be about you? Your happiness, your life,
Next time, make time for your decision, go somewhere silent.
And think. Really, really think, then ask yourself, is it worth it?
