Poetry / I Don't Remember
I don’t remember what you said,
how you said it or the promises made.
I don’t remember how you smile,
full lips relaxed,
then tightened over a nervous grin.
I don’t remember what we shared
spontaneous conversation, open wound
poetry, paintings , art or music.
I don’t remember what we ate
sumptuous foods beneath gazing eyes of desire.
I don’t remember how you felt,
your entoxicating aroma as we hugged.
I won’t remember what you said.
flimsy oaths emitted from a weak selfish heart.
I only remember how you made me feel….
when you acted like you don’t remember.

This circle of life is full of it; isn’t it?
Words
Desires
Wants
Needs
Oaths emitted deception…
All your (don’ts) really say that you do remember. You are human; you have no choice.

Interesting how the person here doesn’t remember all these things, but then right after tells about all of them. I like that twist. Also, one spelling error I picked up on “spontanious” is really “spontaneous.” Overall I enjoyed this.

Good one! I like the circular aspect of this poem. I liked the way it flowed and I liked the emotion behind it. Well written and well read. My only critique would be The second time you mentioned promises. Perhaps that could be made something else? Good job! Todays my lucky day… Reading a lot of good ones!
