Sci Fi & Fantasy / Magic of Tulox'ena
Shadows dance in the dawn, giving way to the mist of morning. And the Sun, knowing no difference, shines gold beams down. Bringing light to the darkness, sending sister Moon home because now it’s his turn to guide the world beneath his gaze. Warmth spreads over the land like a blanket. Awakening the land to move and life begins anew. A new day, a new beginning.
“Ah, hell. I don’t like it.” The sound of paper ripping fills the air of a small room. Along with it getting crumpled and then thrown at the waste can. It rolls across the floor as she paces the floor shaking her head. Biting on the top of her pen, deep in thought. “Shadows dance in the dawn. That part I like but the rest sounds like crap.” She mumbles pushing a stray lock of black hair from her eyes. “I just don’t like the way it sounds, Merlin.” She plops on the sofa pulling a large gray cat into her lap. Stroking his head with every purr, nuzzling her hand. Merlin looks up at her as if understanding. His bright gold eyes watch her intently. “Are you watching to make sure you get your ears rubbed or have you got something else on your mind? Like an idea for this story.” She laughs softly with a warm shimmer to her violet eyes. Eyes the color of soft amethyst, her father’s eyes. A sudden howl with a loud scratching at the door jerks her attention from Merlin. Who growls with a hiss and bolts off her lap. Making a fast retreat under the sofa. “You know how to open the door, Kylar. So, stop with the theatrics. You just scared Merlin again.” The scratching at the door stops with a whine as he walks in. Passing through the door as it wasn’t there. All 6 foot 6 of him with wide shoulders and buzzed green hair. The flair of his trench coat lends to the air of a cloak around him as he watches her with a grin. “You’re no fun tonight, Lynx.” He pouts as he looks to her and laughs. “And I just thought maybe you could use a night out. Away from your writing and have a little fun. Just like old times. Scare a few mortals and party till dawn.” Kylar remarks smiling, rubbing his large hands together like a kid in a candy store. She laughs shaking her head and smiles. “Promise me you won’t scare anyone until AFTER we’re outside this time. You do remember what happened the last time you scared a mortal inside a bar.” He laughs with delight, nodding his head. “Yes, I sure do and baby it was fun.” She throws her pen at him and laughs. “I don’t want to be on the 6am news or on the front page of some paper. With the headlines reading, YES there are DEMONS, be scared, run for your life.” Kylar gives a smirk and grins. “Aw, why not? Give them something to worry about.” She throws her pen at him, missing by a hair and chuckles.
