I personally do make a strong connection with the frequency of goodbyes and their importance, the rare times you don’t want to say goodbye are when you don’t want to leave something behind, or don’t want to let something go. It took me a few rereads to grasp what you meant, but it hit the spot.

I think your title throws off the reader more than the actual quote. Your title suggests that your main idea is the importance of parting ways and how the more you say goodbye the more you become cold to the sadness, but your actual quote is commenting on the emotions revolving around saying goodbye, not necessarily the effect of saying it often. You need to clarify your title. Leave the actual quote as it is. The quote can stand without a title. It’s too short for a shorter explanation and that’s what titles do.
