You’re welcome and I’m so glad you liked it. It’s bit of a departure for me.
Poetry / Untitled
My strasse is too wide.
I can never manage to cross it
completely.
I try.
“There’s a few thangs in the street girlie.”
It’s the little-man-in-my-head.
I don’t know who he is
never have.
He wants to keep me on the curb.
Dammit.
They always move.
Not like they could ever stay in the same place.
Ever.
So’s I could navigate my strasse
without getting my legs knocked from ‘neath me.
Y’know that old joke?
The chicken and the road and all?
Chickin’ only got across the street
because there were no
pink elephants
in
his
strasse

Hm… This is nice. It could be interpreted in a wider sense than a mere street, which I think is cool(even if it’s not intended to be interpreted that way). Yes, it’s original and fun, and I love the lingo. Thanks for sharing!

This was a good poem. It seemed somewhat humerous, yet somehow serious at the same time. You have a way with words, and I enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing this with us ^^
It starts out fine but then you switch from foreign words to twang and it’s a jolt. Who are ‘they’ who always move? I don’t get the pun about the chicken in the road and how it ties to your ‘strasse’ which I thought was German for road or streets. Which is a metaphor for something I’m sure. This doesn’t do much for me to be honest.
